HOW THE SALVADOR POPULATION COMPROVES THE MALE HEGEMONY

The tourist interests determinate that Salvador is still known as the "Brazil's sex paradise". Although the most of 20 years ago with intensive tourism, that provoked the emmigration (to go out the land) of the young women and the massive immigration (to come in the land) of men, officially there's the notion that Salvador "has so much women than men".

The reality shows the exact opposition and the proportion of "eight women to each men" in Salvador is so legendary now. In the Bahia's capital everyday, is just the proportion of two men to each woman we see in practice.

Here we specify some observations about the male hegemony in the capital of Bahia, result from rigorous observations of the Salvador's everyday, in several parts of this city. These observations leave out the happy myth that still illudes so much people, who keeps the "terra caliente" utopia for the sex instinct satisfaction, imaginating that "beautiful woman appears as the grass on the ground".

Teh male hegemony in the Salvador population can be watched by the following facts:

1. The very most of the adult beautiful woman is compromised in love - Teenage girls sexually disposable don''t mean to be a "certification" of the "female hegemony" because these girls can be found in any other place. Also in places like Roraima, the brazilian state that is an example of the male hegemony in its people, there's a lot of teenage girls. It's very easy to the tourist marketing to show a 19 years-old young mistress lied on the beach sand, making us to believe that there's beautiful women for everybody in Salvador. But the reality proves that the women with more than 25 years-old are compromised in their most, putting down all the male fantasies in the sotheropolitan land. So, if Salvador has too less women than men, imagine the beautiful women presence, so pratically rare in the capital of Bahia and who is, in predominance, very compromised.

2. There's restrictive places to flirt - Only ignorant or alcoholist people believe that bars and nightclubs are the ideal places to the great love searching. The bars, in the better hypothesis, are reserved to the sex flirt, because who wants romantism and sincere love must to keep so distant from any bar or nightclub under the risk to suffer in depression. If, in other side, the appropriated places to flirt, as libraries, public squares, school or college patios, don't present opportunities to flirt and gallantry, it means that there's not so many women to anybody, once that in Salvador those places are frequented by compromised women. But also in bars and nightclubs it's not obstant to see married ladies passing by pretending "very lonely girls", to gain so much money to support husbands and children, or to compensate an eventual conjugal conflict (although those girls never split their marriages).

3. Women affirm about "lack of men", but after so much males making gallantry - This is a famous idle talk. some girls, specially the brazilian called "patricinhas", tell the false idea that there's a lack of men in Salvador. But if an attempt person watches so carefully those girls, will see that never lacks any male making a flirt to them. In clear english, what those girls said is there's no man who makes them so protected or supported. It's good to mind that the most of men from Salvador has ugly appearance and their behaviour is so rude when those men will flirt the girls they want.

4. Men invent that "their homes are in the interior of Bahia" - It's so frequent to have people born iin the interior of Bahia living in Salvador. But this stimulates a subtile trick from the sotheropolitan inhabitants count. So much men from the interior, although living in the capital of Bahia, are attributed to be "still living in the interior", hiding the true informations about the male hegemony in Salvador. Some guys try to tell things like "well, my mom is from Nazaré das Farinhas", "I want to see my aunt in Itabuna again", "my clothes is in 'my home' in Barreiras", "I like to help my father in Vitória da Conquista". In true, those men lived in their birthtowns, but they left their cities to make a profesional life in Salvador, and so passing to live in this capital.

5. When we see foreign girls in the Carnival of Bahia and think they are natural from Salvador - The Carnival of Bahia is a greatest party. In the carnival blocks, photographers shoot groups of boys and girls, specially the beautiful girls. Of course, we cannot be sure if those girls are natural from Salvador or not, but in the strange way we generally see those girls in Salvador during the carnival period. In true, they could be came from Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and out of Brazil, staying in Salvador to tan the feast to, afterwards, go out of Bahia and back to their hometowns, as Cinderella at the beat of the midnight.

6. Men multitudes are saw in Salvador everywhere everytime - At the buses, at the commerce, at the streets, at the pavements, lots of men are saw in Salvador. Also in the weekens, when theorically the people born in the interior go to their birthtowns. Just only churches and temples present expressive women predominance, and places like soem smalltowns of Salvador (Brotas, Pituba, Campo Grande, Graça and the Silveira Martins avenue, in Cabula), in similar way. Out of there, there's so much men in the capital famous by the acarajé (typical food from Bahia made by beans and dende oil).
